We strongly recommend that you read through all of the following rental information

All condos at The Sanctuary at False Cape are privately owned and are decorated and equipped to suit the tastes and needs of the owner. All condos are air conditioned and heated for year round use. Because some condos are different inside and out, if you have any specific needs (i.e., bed sizes, tubs or showers, phone, etc.) please bring this to our attention while making reservations and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday. You may reserve a condo online, by phone, mail or in person at our office. A deposit of one-half of the total rent plus travel insurance and administration fee is required within 10 days from the day the reservation is made. A lease agreement will be mailed to you when the reservation is made and must be signed and mailed back to us along with your deposit.

Trip Cancellation Insurance: Cancellation insurance can protect you and your family from expenses you may incur due to illness, injuries, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances. For your convenience and protection we have added the cost of a travel protection plan covering the amount of your rent. A minimum of $500 will be required on all rentals. Deposits are returned 30 days after your departure date.

You have the option to pay a non-refundable, taxable coverage fee in lieu of a refundable security deposit. This option protects you in the event of accidental loss or damage to the rental property that is not a result of negligence or willful conduct by you or others in your party up to $500 total. You must notify our office in writing of any damage or loss during your occupancy and receive a written copy of your report prior to your checkout or this coverage is void. Payment and acceptance of the Damage Deposit Waiver must be in force prior to occupancy. Terms of this option will be mailed to you with your Advance Rent Request.

A $55.00 taxable, non-refundable administration fee is charged for the processing of the reservation.

State and city lodging tax is charged on the gross rent, administrative fee and damage deposit waiver. The tax rates are governed by the City of Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth of Virginia and may change without notice.

We accept cash, money orders and personal checks (only accepted 30 days prior to arrival). INQUIRE ABOUT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT.

Condos are available for check-in between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Every effort is made to insure that all units are clean and ready for occupancy; however, in some instances it is necessary to delay occupancy until the unit is ready. There are no rebates for such late occupancy. If you anticipate arrival after 5:00 p.m., please notify our office ahead of time so that arrangements can be made for keys and directions. Condos will not be available for check-in earlier than 3:00 P.M.

Sanctuary Resort rents to family groups only. Should a house party occupy a unit, we reserve the right to terminate the rental without refund. Please do not jeopardize your vacation.

Once the reservation has been made and confirmed, and you have to cancel for any reason, your money is not refunded unless we re-rent the condo for the same time period. Once the condo is re-rented and the first payment is received, your money is refunded less 15% of gross rent, plus non-refundable charges. Please be advised that it is extremely difficult to secure new rental agreements to replace those cancelled upon such short notice. ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING. Transfers to other condos are treated as cancellations.

If mechanical systems, such as air conditioners and appliances, malfunction, every efffort will be made to correct the problem. There will be NO REFUNDS OR REBATES for the failure or break-down of these items.

Many of our owners have closets with their personal things. These areas are absolutely not included in any rental condo.

It may be necessary for us to enter the units during reasonable hours to perform minor repairs.

Sanctuary Resort is not responsible for personal items left in rental units. Postage charges plus a $20 service charge are required if you request us to pick up and mail any item left in unit.

Items found in condos will be held for 30 days. After 30 days, items will be donated to charity. If items are claimed within 30 days and you request them to be mailed then the above charges will apply.

Sanctuary Resort represents the owners of the condos. As agents for the owners, we are eager to assist you to find a unit that fits your “wants and needs.” Some condos are owned by licensed real estate agents.
